From the very start you are given an insight as to the character of T.T. Liang, a joker with a wicked sense of humour. All too often you are lead to believe that T'ai Chi is very sombre and should be taken with the utmost of seriousness, what a pleasure to read about a Master of a different set of 5 excellences (gambling and drinking among them!) The stories about his life are fascinating. It was a blast of fresh air to hear about his escapades and brushes with the criminal underworld.
