Traditional Taoist Ceremonial & Practice Clothing

The clothing offered here is made in China by Taoist monks. It is the traditional personal wear for Taoists of the Southern sects of Cheng I (Perfecting the One) and Ch’uan Chen (Perfect Realization). Outfits are the same for men and women.

The jacket and pants are made of cotton and silk, traditionally called “White Lotus” because of its softness and delicate weave.

Ensemble includes: jacket, pants, leggings, hat, shoes, and shoulder bag.

The light weight jacket and pants are a deep blue cotton and silk material.

The white leggings are made of cotton and come with tie straps.

The black silk hat has a red inner lining with jade piece in front.

The black shoes (not shown here) include rubber soles for longer wear.

The blue linen shoulder bag has a top zipper closing, and is embroidered with the T’ai Chi symbol and the Eight Diagrams. The Chinese characters above translate as, “The Taoist Methods of the Naturally-Just-So,” and those beneath as, “The Associations of Chinese Taoism.”
